GNOME is currently developing a modern session save and restore feature that will allow users to reopen applications and restore their previous states after logging in.
This feature is aimed at enhancing the overall user experience by making it easier to pick up where users left off.
However, despite its development, the complete implementation of this feature will not be ready in time for the GNOME 51 release.
