The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Manipur has announced that the draft electoral roll for the upcoming elections includes a total of 19.34 lakh voters. This figure represents a significant step in the electoral process as the state prepares for the elections.
However, the CEO also noted that 1,08,283 voters are currently unaccounted for. This discrepancy arises from various factors, including voters who have shifted residences, those who were absent when the Booth Level Officers (BLOs) attempted to verify their information, and individuals who did not return their completed enumeration forms by the deadline of June 28.
The electoral office is working to address these issues and ensure that all eligible voters are accounted for in the final electoral roll. This process is crucial for maintaining the integrity of the electoral system in Manipur.
