The UK government has reported a suspected hantavirus infection in a third British national located on the remote island of Tristan da Cunha.

This individual is believed to have been exposed during a visit by the MV Hondius cruise ship in April.

In total, five cases of hantavirus have been confirmed, including one fatality among the passengers of the same cruise.
