Switzerland, which is not a NATO member, ordered five Patriot air defence systems from the United States in 2022. The initial delivery was expected to start this year.

However, the delivery schedule has faced delays, with the completion of the order now pushed to 2028. This timeline raises concerns regarding the operational readiness of Switzerland's air defence capabilities.

As a result, Swiss authorities are contemplating whether to proceed with the purchase or seek alternative solutions to enhance their air defence infrastructure.
