TotalEnergies Shifts Focus from Offshore Wind to Oil and Gas Investments

TotalEnergies has officially ended two offshore wind turbine programs, which were set to provide a total capacity of 4 gigawatts, off the coasts of New York and North Carolina.

This strategic pivot reflects a broader trend in energy investment, as the company reallocates its focus and resources from renewable energy initiatives to oil and gas sectors.

Additionally, TotalEnergies is set to receive a reimbursement of $928 million, contingent upon the reinvestment of these funds into hydropower projects.
